Bill Siemering served as the first Director of Programming at NPR and wrote NPR’s original mission statement in 1970. He also created public radio’s first signature program, “All Things Considered,” and later developed “Fresh Air.”
He will share his perspective on the evolution of public radio, beginning as a boon for American farmers, developing into a national cultural institution, and then strengthening community radio stations and programming in developing countries.
