What is this?
Join us for a tour of Stoneleigh, Philadelphia's newest public garden.
This 42 acre estate was donated by the Haas family as a land preserve open to the public, with the mission of planting and promoting wildlife-friendly native plants.
Several of Stoneleigh's wonderful trees are Pennsylvania State Champions. The estate's romantic naturalistic landscape has been impeccably maintained by the Haas family.
Our private tour will include the historic landscapes and the main house. The property's paved pathways and asphalt roads are handicapped accessible. The tour of the main house will include the first floor, as well as a peak at the residence organ. The second two floors are home to another non-profit, the Organ Historical Society, and are also available to tour.
The cost is $15 per person, in cash or by check the day of the tour. The tour is limited to 20 people, so please be sure to sign up promptly, either here on line or at 267-444-4507 (M-F, 9-6).
We will meet at the library to carpool at 10:15 pm. If you prefer, you can meet us at Stoneleigh a little before the 11 o'clock tour. Please use the1829 County Line Road parking lot where free parking is avalabe, and meet at the Welcome Kiosk adjacent to the parking lot (look for the wooden entry gate).
